Day 3 Ebbetts Pass to Carson Pass

Started before 6:00 AM and reached Carson Pass (and my truck) by 8.

Day 2 Ebbetts Pass to Carson Pass

Started at 6:15 on the trail. This section had just a few hikers. At the summit of Forestdale Divide there was much snow and the tarns were covered with a thin sheet of ice.

Camped the night at PCT mile 1073. Statistics for the day – 26.5 miles, 4841 ft elevation gain.

PCT Ebbetts Pass to Carson Pass

Early Thursday I stopped at the Pioneer ranger station for permit. I also bought an annual parking pass. The range said there is now a permit office at Carson pass.

10 am I left my truck at Carson pass and started biking. Downhill was fine but the climb to Ebbetts pass was brutal. I was tired and suffered from the altitude. I left my bike near Nobel Canyon Trail trailhead, just past Silver Creek campground and started hiking up Noble Canyon trail to connect to the PCT.

Reached the PCT mile 1045 south of Ebbetts Pass. Hiked along the trail and camped for the night at PCT mile 1047, about 2 mile south of Ebbetts Pass.
