Feather River, PCT mile 1338 to Carter Creek, PCT mile 1316
Tonight I am dry camping. This means that there is no source of water nearby. Although there is Carter Creek, “Half Mile” calls it seasonal. So I decided to carry water from the closest reliable source, which is 10 miles earlier.
There is a sign on the tree at the junction saying .7 mile to permanent water, but it makes no sense to go and check since I already have my water with me.
PCT mid point has a marker at PCT mile 1320.5. There are some different in opinion where the “true” mid point is, but the maker is where it counts. It is not much, but I couldn’t resist taking a selfie with it.
The weather is becoming a problem. According to the latest forecast it suppose to start raining on Sunday. I am contemplating bailing out on Saturday when I reach Belden and not continuing to Truckee.
Stats: 22.5 miles 4500 ft
