Chariot Canyon, Rodriguez Canyon and Scissors Crossing
PCT mile 64 to 78
Day 5 of the Pacific Crest Trail section hike from Campo to Scissors Crossing
The rain woke me up at 3 AM. It rained hard for a few hours, but I managed to stay mostly dry.
A frog came to visit while I was busy with breakfast. It must have laid dormant all summer and sprung back to life by the rain. First I tried to shoo it off, but it wouldn’t shoo. Then I reached for my camera and it disappeared in one hop.
1:30 pm – Got to Scissor Crossings and to my truck. I saw 3 hikers south bound today. They are getting close to finishing the entire trail.
It took 2 hours to drive to Campo. I picked up my bike at the trading post and back to the start to take photos, then home.
Stats: 77 miles, 10566 ft. up, 11222 ft. down.
